A Writing Adventure That Transforms Struggle Into Storytelling Magic

 Â
CLARITY, CONFIDENCE, CREATIVITYÂ
“One of my fondest memories that first pops into my mind is the storybook I wrote in fourth grade titled “Kidnapped!”. At that age and with the Waldorf timeline of development, I was freshly honing my writing skills and discovering where that creative outlet could take me. I still feel a lot of pride in that little story! I remember, while it was still in progress, our assistant teacher would read a chapter each week to the whole class. Hearing my inner thoughts come to life for others to indulge in was something extremely powerful for my own growth. It was raw and unedited creativity being shared in a safe and non-judgemental environment. It gave me confidence, inspiration, and newfound techniques to express my ideas and explore where to follow them next. Hearing my written words spoken aloud helped me clarify what elements of the story needed more development as well. It was a very meaningful time in my writing journey and overall growth as an independent thinker.”

“There wasn’t so much of a binary of failure and success in the Write-Craft-Edit Method - rather there was an expectation to keep trying no matter the outcome. When assigned a creative synthesis of the historical facts of the age of exploration, I wrote a chant about the dangers of scurvy to seafarers from the point of view of the evil incarnation of pestilence itself, hungry for victims. Le Bas gave me full points on this assignment.”
Jessie - now a young adult, built his writing confidence step by step through the Write-Craft-Edit Method—and it shows in everything he does.
